Road Safety Concern – Days Lane DA15 8JL

Reported via mobile in the Damaged road category anonymously at 20:11, Sunday 5 April 2026

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 9243636.

Subject: Road Safety Concern – Days Lane (DA15)

I would like to formally report a road safety concern on Days Lane, DA15 - especially from the Halfway road turn in.

The road is experiencing frequent speeding and a high volume of traffic, despite being a relatively narrow residential street. Vehicles regularly travel at unsafe speeds, and the situation is made worse by buses using the road. When buses pass through, there is often insufficient space for opposing traffic, creating conflict points and forcing vehicles onto the edges of the carriageway.

This has resulted in repeated near misses and presents a clear safety risk to pedestrians, cyclists, and residents, particularly given the limited road width and visibility.

I would like to request that the council carry out: - A traffic volume survey - A speed survey - A full road safety assessment

Based on the findings, I ask that appropriate measures are considered, such as traffic calming (e.g. speed cushions or a 20mph zone) or traffic management changes to reduce through traffic.

This road currently appears unsuitable for the level and type of traffic it is carrying, particularly with buses and general traffic competing for limited space.

I would appreciate confirmation that this issue will be investigated.
