Cannabis smoking and messing around by the teenagers from schools or colleges for a couple of months

Reported via mobile in the Contractor Enquiry/Complaints category anonymously at 13:35, Tuesday 3 March 2026

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 9037585.

I am writing to raise an ongoing concern regarding the Sidcup Place Community Garden, which has unfortunately become increasingly difficult to enjoy due to persistent antisocial behaviour.

On a daily basis, groups of teenagers—mostly coming from nearby colleges—gather in the garden to smoke cannabis and cigarettes, leave food packaging and drink containers behind, and behave in ways that make the area feel unsafe and unpleasant. As a local resident and a parent who regularly walks through the garden with my baby, I find it extremely challenging to use this space for the peaceful purpose it is intended for.

This place should be a clean, calm, and family‑friendly environment. Instead, the strong smell of cannabis, the litter left behind, and the disruptive behaviour make it impossible to enjoy the area or even pass through comfortably.

I kindly request that the council or the appropriate enforcement and maintenance teams take action to address this issue. Increased monitoring, clearer signage, regular patrols, or any other measures you deem appropriate would make a significant difference for residents who rely on this garden as a safe and peaceful public space.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope steps can be taken soon to restore the garden to a clean and welcoming environment for everyone.
