Safety lighting off since Netflix filming turned them off

Reported via mobile in the Light in park or open space category anonymously at 08:37, Tuesday 27 January 2026

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 8775509.

The safety lights, in the front part of this alleyway open space linking Lensbury Way and Wolvercote Rioad, plus the MUGA lights and LED clock, plus the bridge lights over Wolvercote Road/Yarnton Way were installed and working between summer 2025 and early December, when Film Fixer permitted a crew to film series 2 of a Netflix show in and around Radley House Wolvercote Road and the MUGA. They had their own light rigging and these lights were switched off but never reconnected. It poses risks to women's safety at night, and of mugging. Senior Peabody managers related to Film Fixer have also been made aware. Please switch the circuit back on ASAP. Thanks

  • The excuse given, that there was not enough winter daylight to power the night light, is not going down well I'm afraid. Given that the other half the row of lights have been powered by winter daylight and have consistently worked well. Maybe they are powered instead by gaslight. Film fixer said that they did later inspect, the clock in the MUGA is now on again. But nothing else. Thanks.
