Safety hazard: Failure to reinstate double yellow lines on narrow bus route following resurfacing.

Reported via mobile in the Other street defect category anonymously at 17:55, Wednesday 21 January 2026

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 8737790.

During the resurfacing of Alsike Road (Jan 12–14), the contractors failed to repaint the double yellow lines on the narrowest section of the road. Because the opposite side allows free parking, cars are now parking on both sides of the street. This has created a dangerous bottleneck that prevents buses and emergency vehicles from passing through. The lines need to be reinstated immediately to prevent the road from being completely blocked and to maintain the safety of the bus route.

  • Upon checking google maps for confirmation the double yellow lines were between Maran Way and Landridge Road on both sides of the road. They were faded but definitely visible (you can still see them on Google Maps). Now they’re gone, cars are parking on both sides. Just past the bus stop from landridge road side all the way to maran way on both sides it was double yellow lines
