Progressive road cracking Warwick Road

Reported via mobile in the Damaged road category anonymously at 09:17, Friday 9 January 2026

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 8654176.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to report a deteriorating section of road directly outside my property which appears to be showing signs of progressive cracking and possible subsidence.

I have monitored the area over the past two weeks and the cracks have significantly widened and extended during this time. I have attached images taken two weeks apart which clearly demonstrate the progression.

My concerns are: - Structural weakening of the road surface - Potential subsidence beneath the tarmac - Water ingress into the cracks, accelerating deterioration - Increased risk of potholes forming - Safety risks to pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles - Possible impact on nearby property foundations

Given the visible progression, I kindly request that this section of road is urgently inspected by your highways team, with particular attention to: - Ground stability - Drainage beneath the surface - Risk of further collapse

Please could you confirm: - When an inspection can be arranged - Whether any temporary safety measures will be put in place - The expected timescale for remedial works

I would appreciate this being treated as a priority due to the rapid deterioration and safety implications.

Thank you for your assistance and I look forward to your response.
