Faded Road Markings / Lack of Visible Give Way signage

Reported via desktop in the Other street defect category anonymously at 12:09, Tuesday 4 November 2025

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 8374761.

I live in Mayplace Avenue & drive up & down Crayford Way several times a day, Crayford Way is a congested & busy road with all types of traffic, inc. Buses using the road. The Give Way / Stop Sign at this location (Direction from Crayford towards Maiden Lane) is not fit for purpose & the situation is dangerous. The road markings are faded & urgently need re-touching, there is no visible "Give Way" sign & despite the presence of the (faded) stop / give way markings cars coming up Crayford way regularly ignore or do not see them causing near miss head on collisions or a game of chicken with cars established and heading towards Crayford town centre having to guess whether oncoming traffic will stop as they should do or there will be a need to take evasive action. There needs to be fresh & clear road markings put in place with a lit "Give Way" sign to support the road markings at night. I have multiple near misses at this point every week because drivers coming up Crayford Way do not see or recognise that there are mandatory Give Way & stop lines at this point. Please take action
