Multiple flags on the Horse Roundabout in Belvedere are causing dangerous driver distraction and must be urgently removed to ensure road safety.

Reported via iOS in the Illegal posters category by Hugh seymour at 12:24, Tue 30 September 2025

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 8232969.

I am writing to raise an urgent concern regarding the multiple flags currently displayed on the Horse Roundabout in Belvedere. The large number and positioning of these flags are distracting for motorists and are causing drivers to lose focus on the road. This creates a clear driving hazard, particularly on a busy roundabout where full concentration is essential for safety.

The issue at hand is not one of community tension, but rather road safety. The presence of so many flags is visually overwhelming and poses a real risk of accidents. Drivers should be able to navigate the roundabout without unnecessary distractions, and the current situation makes this difficult.

While I understand that the council may be monitoring the situation in collaboration with other parties, this approach is insufficient given the immediate safety implications. Simply observing the issue does not address the hazard it presents to road users.

I would therefore appreciate clarification on which partners the council is working with and what steps are being taken to ensure public safety. In the meantime, I strongly urge that the flags be removed as a matter of urgency to restore a safe and unobstructed driving environment.

Please confirm once this matter has been reviewed and appropriate action has been taken.
