Road Markings

Reported via desktop in the Other street defect category anonymously at 09:28, Tuesday

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 7082339.

Kindly explain the significance of the single dashed line (Traffic sign regs Diagram 1003.3 ) that runs from the double dashed "give way" lines of St John's Road to the end of the parking bay double yellow line on Market Parade Sidcup High Street. The parking bay is correctly set out, so why the additional single dashed line. Is this a permitted variation of the bay? Are any of these restriction markings now enforcable?
