Roads

Reported via mobile in the Other street defect category anonymously at 10:44, Saturday 11 January 2025

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 6964798.

I live in Totnes Road DA16 1BU. My concern is the road, like most roads in the area at the moment, they are icy and dangerous. Totnes Road, particularly at the junction with Bideford Road is sloped and dangerous in icy conditions!! So where are the gritters, you know, the ones that if they do attend drive up the road at 30 mph spreading grit everywhere but on the road where it’s needed!!? Some years ago, I was given the excuse - “they can’t get up the hill cos it’s slippery” - that, in my opinion, was one of the dumbest excuses I have ever heard!! I thought that the services from Bexley Council had moved on and improved but, but here we are once again, lack of action!! As for your emergency phone number, I was put through to ‘Housing Repairs’ where the poor woman didn’t know who to call or report to? Council Tax is now so extortionate - how about we start getting some value for money and perhaps get some grit on our roads!!?
