Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 6440227.
Good Afternoon I have today sent the email below to the Environmental Agency and am hoping that you can also be of assistance. Please see below.....
After much email writing and phone calling, I have resorted to contacting Environmental Agency with regards to a troublesome tree where I live. I live at 27 Carlton Road, Welling DA16 1QH, am the home owner and have lived here for 30 years. There is a very large Sycamore tree in the pavement outside my house which was here when I moved here. It has grown significantly and really is far too large for the road. Over the last 8-10 years the tree has caused significant problems with the shared drainage to my property as the drainage pipes run very close to the tree. I have had to have the drains unblocked on numerous occasions, we ourselves have to periodically rod the drains and Thames Water have assisted along with the local council as my neighbour is a council tenant and she has requested assistance. The drain pipes have had camera surveys and it is confirmed that the tree roots are causing an issue with the drains. The council instructed contractors to insert cutters into the drains to cut the roots away but this was some years ago now. The surrounding paving and also my driveway is also cracking and lifting and the manhole adjacent to the tree is cracking and sinking. Not only is the tree causing blockage issues with the drains but also making trip hazards on the pavement and on my property. Bexley Council seem unwilling to assist. Please could you look into this and advise me if I need to contact anywhere else or if this can be looked into by yourselves.

Hello I have not received a response from the Council, my email address is sallyehopgood@gmail.com and I would appreciate a reply. The tree really is far too big for its environment and is causing structural damage to my property.
