Shrubs over growing pathway in park

Reported via mobile in the Shrubs and Hedge category anonymously at 09:01, Tue 9 July 2024

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 6207218.

For the past few years the hedge that runs alongside the path through the park behind Cray Road Allotments has been regularly left to grow over the path. It was trimmed back, I think, earlier this year but not by much and the very end of the hedge was not trimmed back at all (maybe because a tree was growing in it so it required a different team?). At present most of that path is not accessible due to the hedge, and the end section, near to the alley between two fields, has not been accessible for a few years now. This never used to be the case. Please can the hedge be trimmed back effectively and regularly so that it does not obstruct the use of the path, especially the end section with has not been maintained at all for the last few years. I do not understand why so much effort has been put into trimming the epicormic growth of the trees on the opposite side of the park but adequate resources are not used to ensure the only path in the park is kept clear.
