Dear Sir/Madam,
Subject: Urgent Attention Required for Uneven Pavements on Queenswood Road and Fairfield Close
I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing safety concern regarding the uneven slabs on the pavements along Queenswood Road and Fairfield Close. The condition of these pavements has deteriorated significantly, posing a serious trip hazard for all pedestrians, especially the elderly residents who frequent these areas.
Over recent months, I have noticed an increase in the number of raised and uneven slabs, making it increasingly difficult for individuals to walk safely. This issue is particularly concerning for older people, who are at a higher risk of falls and injuries. Ensuring safe pedestrian pathways is crucial in preventing accidents and promoting mobility and independence among our senior citizens.
I kindly request that Bexley Council undertakes an immediate inspection of the pavements on Queenswood Road and Fairfield Close. Swift action is needed to repair and level the uneven slabs, thereby eliminating this dangerous hazard. It is essential that we prioritize the safety and well-being of our community members, particularly the vulnerable elderly population.
I trust that the Council will recognize the urgency of this matter and take the necessary steps to address it promptly. Your attention to and assistance with this issue will be greatly appreciated by all who live in and visit our community.
Thank you for your understanding and prompt action on this matter. I look forward to your positive response and swift resolution of this issue.
Yours faithfully,
Alessandro

Subject: Urgent Follow-Up on Uneven Pavements on Queenswood Road and Fairfield Close
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to follow up on my previous communication regarding the uneven slabs on the pavements along Queenswood Road and Fairfield Close, reported on July 3, 2024, under reference number 6185906.
Since the initial report, I have noticed that your team did come to mark the areas where the slabs are uneven; however, no further action has been taken to address this issue. The marked sections remain in their hazardous condition, which is particularly concerning as we head into the autumn months when wet conditions can exacerbate the risks of falls.
Additionally, I want to emphasize that the entire pavement along both Queenswood Road and Fairfield Close is in an unacceptable state. The patchwork repairs previously made, which involved merely applying a small amount of tarmac to level the slabs, are inadequate and do not resolve the underlying problems. This approach is not only insufficient but also reflects poorly on our community’s commitment to ensuring safe and accessible pathways for all residents, especially our elderly population.
I kindly urge Bexley Council to take immediate action to fully repair and, if necessary, completely redo the pavements on Queenswood Road and Fairfield Close. A comprehensive solution is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of our community members.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your prompt response and a clear plan for addressing these concerns.
