Bollards removed and damaged along Slade Green Road near Corner pin Pub
Reported via desktop in the Damaged bollards/posts category anonymously at 14:52, Wednesday 5 June 2024
Sent to London Borough of Bexley 3 hours, 44 minutes later. Report ref: 6067466.
I am writing here as the other post reporting the same problem has been closed for anyone to add anything and there has been no further progress mentioned. It has been nearly 5 MONTHS since the bollards were removed from this location. Large vehicles now have access to come through this small stretch of narrow roads, causing massive congestion, debris dropping from their loads when hitting speed bumps potentially hitting cars & pedestrians nearby. Trucks and Skip Lorries thundering through at high speed all days and particularly in the early hours of the morning and are using the BUS LANE nearby, when the bollards were up. Since then this has become a DANGEROUS area to walk children to school or just walk the road period. We have two schools and a Nursery nearby that children need to access as they need to cross the road in that area but Vehicles (large & small) are now speeding along that road with no bollards to slow them down. There is no zebra crossing in this area so we need the bollards back to slow the cars down. Bollards fixed into the ground are currently damaged/bent as drivers have used their vehicles to bend them over to push through. I just hope it is not going to take a someone to be hit be a speeding lorry or car for something to be done. PLEASE put the bollards back, why is it taking so long?
