Pavement needs sweeping

Reported via mobile in the Obstructions on pavements and roads category anonymously at 10:09, Mon 20 November 2023

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 5231633.

Pavement outside the church has heaps of leaves that need sweeping - they are blocking the pavement forcing pedestrians to walk close to the main road. Also the footpath next to the church that leads to Hurst road needs sweeping- heaps of vegetation which is slippery to walk on in this wet weather. It has not been swept in weeks.

  • Pavement on main road was swept and the leaves collected up and shovelled into bags. However, the footpath had the leaves swept with a blower to the edges and just left. This vegetation will eventually just breakdown in a pile of mud, Seems like only half a job done here. In parts the footpath is already slippery where the vegetation is decaying. Just hope the next time (when all the leaves have fallen off the trees) all the vegetation is collected up and taken away.

  • Leaves were blown onto side of alley way - leaving them to blow away again or for people to drop their litter in, including dog poop, whereas on the main road they were shovelled up and taken away. What is in the agreement with the contractor?
