Roots causing raising of pavement, driveway of number 73 and growing into the drain causing a blockage.

Reported via desktop in the Damaged pavement category anonymously at 12:42, Wed 8 November 2023

Sent to London Borough of Bexley 3 hours, 46 minutes later. Report ref: 5188253.

Because of an overflowing drain, I called in professionals. At a cost of £318.00, the problem was rectified - see summary below:

"Technician(s) on Site: 07 Sep 2023 12:22 - 13:02 Jamie Howlett Work Carried Out: Arrived on site, found drain blocked in garage, rodded to clear blockage, found mass roots removed roots and carried out looksee, found roots growing through joints of clay pipe advised to liner Customer paid"

In order to prevent further damage from regrowth of the roots have been advised to liner at a cost of £1,150. I am not able to proceed with the recommended works because of the cost but am concerned about the outcome should this result in broken pipes. A number of similar trees have been removed from Old Farm Avenue (recently outside No. 56) and if there are any plans for removal of the one outside No. 73 then this would solve the problem of regrowth of the roots. I look forward to hearing from you.
