Maiden Erlegh Avenue - Road and Footpath surfaces
Reported via desktop in the Damaged pavement category by Jamie Fitzpatrick at 09:35, Friday 22 September 2023
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 5020346.
The road service on Maiden Erlegh Avenue is not fit for purpose and below industry standards for modern day pavement construction. the road has potholes, cracks in the concrete surface, subsidence in the road surface, among other hazards for public, pedestrians and road users. The surface on inspection looks to be the same surface that was constructed when the houses were built in that area. there is no visible surface course or binder course layer construction, and this is contributing to the rapid decline of the surface. substandard attempts have been made by council contractors to "patch up" holes before but over a couple of weeks the holes appear again. the usage of the road is quite high and is often used as a through road for vehicles coming from Hurst Road/Camden Road.
This is the third time I have raised an issue on this road, and I need to do so again today as my daughter tripped in a hole on the road surface while crossing the road and has ended up with an extremely bruised and cut face. Bexley Council needs to urgently devise a plan to surface this road correctly.
