Sap damaging car, attracting wasps & roots pushing up driveway & pavement

Reported via mobile in the Street category by Teresa Wilkins at 18:30, Thursday 7 September 2023

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 4970316.

The tree overhangs my driveway & the sap is sticking to my car & attracting multiple wasps. This is a danger to me & family & ruining the car paintwork. The tree roots are pushing up the pavement & my driveway. God only knows what it is doing to the foundations of my house. This tree needs to be removed.

  • Despite reporting a dangerous issue over 3 weeks ago, you have not replied. I have paid privately to have the overhanging branches cut back. The tree base is losing bark which is the sign of a decaying tree. The tree leaves are infected with aphids which is causing sap to drip onto my new car and attracting numerous wasps. The wasps are a public safety hazard, which has been reported by other neighbours to no effect. The roots are pushing up my driveway and have weakened the brick perimeter wall - this is also a potential safety hazard. There is also damage to the public pavement. I dread to think what the roots are doing to my house foundations. The tree needs to be removed and my driveway and brickwork made good. I hope to hear from you shortly or I will have no option but to seek legal advice.
