Dangerous camber on bend of east street
Reported via desktop in the Other street defect category anonymously at 20:42, Monday 4 September 2023
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 4958826.
The pavement gets narrower as you round the corner and there is a dangerous slope toward the road. My mother lives in Fern court and is confined to a wheelchair. I needed to take her to the gp today and always struggle with the wheel chair around this corner it seems worse when walking from the broadway end down east st towards the school. The path slopes towards the road and so I have to move to the road side of the wheel chair and push her around the bend but today despite doing this, the chair slipped towards the road. My only solution was to get mum out of the chair and leave her standing in the road whilst I lifted the chair back onto the pavement and help my mum up the kerb and back into the wheel chair. She was seconds away from falling out and smashing her knee , hip or herself onto road. Extremely scary for us both!! There is no pavement on the other side and so my only other option is to push the wheel chair down the road. This is not acceptable. The pavement needs to be levelled and the the kerb built up. This road is used my many residents with walking aids and parents with pushchairs etc heading to the primary school.
I look forward to hearing from you asap.
