Tree has GONE!

Reported via desktop in the TPO enquiry category anonymously at 09:03, Wednesday 5 July 2023

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 4751180.

I reported this tree had been pushed over by someone attempting to park their car and that it was dead and totally loose in the ground. A few weeks later a team of guys arrived and put a new stake in saying it would be fine - it was clearly dead and crispy! Now the entire tree, stake and protection mesh has gone. It has been missing for over a week now and i am getting concerned that this will become another forgotten tree pit that appear to litter the bexleyheath estates. Please ensure that this does not happen and the broken tree is replaced asap.

  • I contacted you nearly 3 weeks ago about this and was promised an update within 5 working days. I have still heard nothing and will not let this drop. There are 2 many empty tree pits in the borough of Bexley and i refuse to let this become another one.

  • This has now been 2 months with no updates or actions. I have raised a Complaint which has also been ignored. Can i please at least get an answer as to if you do or do not intend to replace this tree?

  • After raising this to all the councillors in Bexley, I finally got a response saying that they had not bothered to reply due to short staffing and they probably won't replace the tree due to budget limitations. Terrible service, will not let this drop!

  • After replying to the response that told me they probably wouldn't bother replacing the tree, and copying in all the Bexley councillors on the reply, saying how disgusted i was with this attitude towards trees in our burough. I have now had a response promising that a tree will be planted. I will leave this open until it has been.

  • Having escalated this to every councilor in Bexley, i suddenly get a change of heart and have been told that the tree pit is now on the planting list for next year.
