Over growing our property, v stick sap, leaves

Reported via mobile in the Street category anonymously at 10:15, Friday 16 June 2023

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 4679788.

The tree opposite Nursary Ave in Belvedere Rd DA7, is overgrowing our property and has very sticky sap which is damaging our vehicle paintwork and makes it extremely dirty and sticky. It is causing an obstruction on the footway for wheelchairs & pushchairs and obstructs vision into the street. During the autumn the leaves become a problem in guttering and drain pipe. We use our brown bin and green sacks to remove leaves for weeks. This is ongoing even after the tree has been pruned, there are still branches that overhang the driveway frontline of our property. I love trees but this one needs to be reduced significantly in both height and width.

  • I have not received a follow up email regarding this issue. When I submitted the issue it states I would receive a follow up email within five working days. I noticed the lower branches which obstructed the footway and vision have been trimmed, however, I have not had any update regarding other work being carried out or not. The branches overhanging our property have not been trimmed, so the issue has not been resolved and, no doubt, in a couple of months, I will be paying the council to remove their leaves. I could of course sweep them all into the road causing an obstruction there and send the council the invoice for drain and guttering clearance, though I doubt that would ever be paid.
