Cigarette Buds/graffiti/Canisters - Litter

Reported via desktop in the Street cleaning and litter category anonymously at 16:11, Thursday 25 May 2023

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 4596521.

Pickford Lane (Station end) needs cleaning Serious problem with litter/garbage on Pickford lane specifically the pavement. In the past few months, the rubbish including used cigarette buds, beer cans, metal canisters and plastic waste has NOT been picked up and cleaned. This is obviously a nuisance for the residents who are perpetually having to clean up after disrespectful citizens litter the area, causing more pests in our neighbourhood and making the street look poorly.

Our locality used to be very clean and proper once. But recently due citizens/council cleaning staff, I am seeing a lack of proper street cleanliness. I urge the council to either impose a fine to individuals causing this litter or ensure the council recruits someone to clean everyday or at least put a sign to say keep our streets clean.

People use Pickford road as a shortcut to go to the train station and my feeling is after having a good night out specially on weekends our street is filthy with cigarette buds, beer cans, metal canisters and plastic lays packs. We've been cleaning this for months and really fed up as the mess just keeps getting worse. Our streets need to be cleaner as we are a proud borough of established business and people alike.
