Road collapsed around manhole covers very dangerous .
Reported via desktop in the Damaged road category anonymously at 18:47, Tue 27 December 2022
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 4060888.
This has been reported previously as a bad crack in the road, a temporary tarmac joint was carried out back in the summer. Which was a waste of time & money. It’s quite obvious that there is a leak from the manhole/ drainage that is undermining the concrete road. Now the road has cracked again & also sunken approximately 75mm . It’s only by luck that someone hasn’t been seriously injured on a motorcycle or bicycle. Also damaged vehicle wheels/ tyres.

Update on reference 4060888 The council have been out and carried out a tarmac repair job. This is just papering over cracks !!!!! The road is already started to subside again a couple of days after the poor repair the tarmac has opened up. When will this issue be resolved with a decent permanent repair?

A temporary repair has been done. But is very poor & there is still a raised bit of concrete & don’t believe this repair will last any time. As I said in my original report, There must be a problem or leak to the manhole/ drain undermining the concrete road. So just to come along and put a bit of tarmac in the large movement holes is just sticking a plaster over problem
