4x lamp columns not working. Lamps blown.
Reported via mobile in the Lamp post category by Steve Johnston at 10:07, Sat 3 December 2022
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 4012054.
The 4 lamps on Hillside have all blown which means the entirety of Hillside is in darkness. Although this is an unadopted road, it was the council who installed the lights and over the years, every time one has been reported as not working, Bexley council have repaired them via your contractor. There are 3 registered disabled people (that I know of) that live along Hillside, as well as some elderly people, family's with young children and some houses that house vulnerable women on a temporary basis. To have the entire road in darkness creates a real danger to the saftey and wellbeing of the residents who all pay Bexley council tax. Another reason that I believe that Bexley council should be responsible for these lights is that the 4 lights all have individual unmetered supplies fed directly from the UK Power Networks passing main cable as part of the Borough wide public street lighting Contract that individual councils have with the electricity network operators. Bexley has always been a great borough to live in, and we hope that you can continue to provide the reliable service that you have done in the past.

The case has now been closed as our investigations have been completed and the necessary repairs arranged where it relates to items maintainable by Bexley. Although these columns are not currently the responsibility of the Council, it's been decided to update them to modern LED heads which means that Bexley will take on the maintenance on them going forward. This is now been added to the programme to be carried out and will likely happen in the next couple of weeks.
Please let us know if the matter is not resolved after 3 weeks.
