Breaking up road tarmac - holes appearing

The surface of the road has been deteriorating for months and now large deep holes have appeared.

  • The road has continued to break up, this has now created a deep pot hole and the tarmac is all breaking up further and being scattered across the road as buses and lorry’s travel up and down the road at speed much greater than the sign posted 30mph

  • Someone came out a put a temporary patch on the hole. Filling only the tarmac that had so far come loose. The tarmac is still continuing to crack and break up, so with the rain and cold over night, it will just get worse until re-surfaced correctly.

  • The report has been inspected by a member of the Highways Team . The inspection concluded that the fault identified within this report does not require further action as it does not meet guidelines where further action or repairs are required at this stage.
