Pigeon fowling due to spikes not replaced after bridge works
Reported via mobile in the Street cleaning and litter category by Mark Copley at 09:56, Thu 7 July 2022
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 3657384.
Third time lucky- of reporting this. Approx 2.5 years ago some bridge works were carried out to the bridge, where there were holes in the bridge from the underpass. When the works were completed, pigeon spikes were not replaced and so ever since, pigeons have been nesting and excreting on the pathway underneath the bridge. This poses a risk to the public because where the fowl is not covering a percentage of the pathway, when passing members of the public the road is being used and we all know how many drivers speed through the underpass. Please deal with this problem and clean it all up and reinstate pigeon spikes so this doesn’t continue! And please, stop passing this on to other departments or agencies as it’s not being dealt with!!! It’s a PUBLIC pathway so I’m sure Bexley are responsible, but please see this through so I don’t have to keep reporting it.

The Council had sent a team round to clean the street under the bridge with the pigeon mess, but have not solved the root of the issue so within a week, pigeon excretion was back and is again piling up like before.

The walkway had been cleaned, but with a few days it’s covered in fowl again from the pigeons. The root of the issue needs to be addressed so this is then fixed.
