Abandoned and damaged car

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned and untaxed vehicles category anonymously at 21:53, Thu 16 June 2022

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 3602801.

This red Mazda has been parked outside 75 Alers Road for over two weeks. It has severe damage on the offside front panels so has either been involved in a collision or has been hit whilst it has been parked there. No one has moved the vehicle or come to it since. It is taking up two car parking spaces which is causing people to park on the double yellow lines meaning the buses are finding it difficult to squeeze through the gap as they come round the corner- which is worrying as the buses could cause damage to other cars.

  • Annoying as it may seem but unfortunately BEXLEY council are powerless to act as this vehicle has a valid insurance, MOT, and tax , so it can park anywhere on the public road

  • Even though it is on a bus route and the buses are having trouble getting round the corner because of the way it’s parked? Is there anyway the council can contact the owner and asked for it to be moved due to this?
