Very poor road surface

Reported via desktop in the Damaged road category anonymously at 15:13, Wednesday 8 June 2022

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 3581216.

The cracks appearing in the 2018 Google picture attached are now a couple of centimetres deep (at least) and cover most of the nearside lane. It is hard to maintain a correct line in a car around the junction - on two wheels it is highly dangerous, especially at night when the damage is not so obvious in the poor street lighting. It can only be a matter of time before there is a serious accident here.

  • No sign of anyone having looked at this (no paint on carriageway)/ Damage covers nearly 3/4 of nearside lane over a stretch of aprox 10-15m. It is 2-3cm deep across the damaged area.

  • Still no sign that the council has looked at this problem, let alone considered a repair. I have seen numerous PTW's skid across the area when they have not had the opportunity to avoid it (because of other traffic).

  • No sign this has been looked at. I have watched cars swerve to avoid the area (frequently to the detriment of other road users). With the volume of traffic using the area, it can only be a metter of time before there is a serious accident there.
