Hedges overgrown taking up roughly 70% of pavement

Reported via mobile in the Obstructions on pavements and roads category anonymously at 18:48, Wednesday 6 April 2022

Sent to London Borough of Bexley 15 hours, 30 minutes later. Report ref: 3442409.

This was reported back in November 2021. Cannot believe this is still not resolved. Who do we need to speak to about this to actually get these hedges trimmed all the way around the property. Not just enough to take a picture to get council off their case. I have had an email for the second time from the council letting me know case has been solved and case closed. Obviously the resident has lied to the council and without anyone coming to assess the job done have taken their word as resolve. This is an updated picture I have taken today 6/04/2022. Obviously seriously overgrown and needs to be dealt with asap as has now been far to long. Didn’t want to say this but obviously some people have not respect for their own home looking a mess as well as being considerate to others pedestrians who use this public path. To the resident and the council: There are many elderly, children and all people in general who should be able to use this pathway safely all year round without having to report this issue and 6months later, still nothing done. Disgraceful 😡

  • Again bins been left out for a week now on the pavement with pedestrians having to walk around it. Hedges are so overgrown now that you have to step into the road to walk around the corner. Over 6 months since first reported. Disgusted with resident even more so the council for doing what seems like absolutely nothing.

  • When is someone going to contact 134, Lower Road to tell them to do something about over grown hedge and rubbish obstructing pavements and dropped curb ?

  • Bushes now overgrown past the pavement onto road. Bins been left out over 2 weeks now. This is now a serious danger on the corner of a busy main road. People are having to step into the road to just get around the corner.

  • It has now got even more dangerous not only for pedestrians but also vehicles turning in and out of the road on main junction as impossible to see others coming. Doesn’t take much to trim these back please. Has the council even made any attempts to fix this issue? Or are they waiting for some accidents. I’m sure there has already been some just not reported to the council as not everyone takes these steps.

  • I am very concerned as a resident of this road. Cars cannot see around the corner and on a few occasions I have had near misses with other vehicles. The route gets very busy due to the school and I’m worried a child will be hurt.

  • Ok… so the hedges were cut down yesterday. Thanks. However the debris is now absolutely everywhere all over the pavement and road and where there was so much of it, it’s a huge mess! Can they not clean up after themselves?
