Collapsing drain cover in Jubilee Way, Sidcup where buses stand close to the station

Reported via desktop in the Manhole covers category anonymously at 16:32, Wednesday 16 March 2022

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 3393668.

A drain is badly collapsing at the edge of the road and tarmac has disappeared from one side leaving a gaping hole through to the water in the drain on the outer side. It is possible a bus may get stuck in it if it is not rectified soon. It is in the area for buses to stand.

  • The drain was still just cordoned off and not fixed yesterday 12.4.22

  • The drain was still in need of repair yesterday, The plastic fence placed round the collapsed drain is now over the drain as it is quite likely that buses which are parked nearby may knock it. They are probably annoyed that nothing has progressed.

  • At last, the problem has been fixed as we saw that the work had been completed when we walked through Jubilee Way today 9/6/2022. This has taken far too long and bits of yellow plastic fencing which surrounded the hole originally have been left close by and have been damaged because buses were running over it in the end.
