Fly Tipped Rubbish Left by Outgoing Tenants
Reported via desktop in the Garage areas category anonymously at 09:47, Tue 22 February 2022
Sent to London Borough of Bexley 1 week, 3 hours, 20 minutes later. Report ref: 3333695.
There was a report submitted by my neighbour on 21/02/2022 regarding witnessing mattresses etc being dumped by outgoing tenants at the junction of Abbey Road and New Road. The tenants lived at 469 Abbey Road and a video clip was submitted of the dumping the above rubbish. In addition they have dumped other unwanted items at the rear of 469 Abbey Road which is totally unacceptable. This rubbish in the attached picture should be cleared and paid for by those who dumped it. As video evidence is available it should be fairly easy for Bexley Council and the Police to track down and prosecute these fly tippers.

This rubbish is also the responsibility of 467 Abbey Road, tennents of both 467 and 469 were witnessed by other neighbours discarding rubbish over their back walls. 469 have also taken to leaving an old mattress and other discarded material in the front garden, sadly although an eyesore is not yet fly tipping onto the street, no doubt that will soon follow.

The previous tenants have since moved out leaving a pile of rubbish in the front garden that has been cleared I assume by the landlord. However the rubbish left at the rear of the property remains.

New tenants have arrived and may have added to the ever increasing pile of discarded materials

I did receive a message from bexley council saying that as it is a private access they cannot take any action. Shame really as it is a real eyesore!

Now bagged rubbish that was not left out for the Friday bin collections has now found it’s way onto the ever increasing pile, vermin (rats) have been seen, I cannot believe people choose to live like this. The house has recently changed tenants but the landlord did nothing about this disgraceful situation.

Looks like this issue is never going to be addressed as it would seem no one cares. Oh what a wonderful world we live in!

I can only see this issue getting worse! Now the front garden is being used as a dumping ground.

I understand the council are not going to address this issue but it is very frustrating that no action has been taken against the owner to force then to address it. It seems we will just have to live with it!
As Louis Armstrong once said “oh what a wonderful world “

It is a shame that Bexley Council are not in a position to enforce this rubbish is cleared by the owner even though it is their tenant that is dumping it!
