Tow truck abandoned since June 2021

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned and untaxed vehicles category anonymously at 16:01, Monday 24 January 2022

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 3263709.

I am reporting once again as the Tow truck is still in the same position it has been in since June 2021 that’s a total of 7 months. If this isn’t an abandoned vehicle then I don’t know what is. Bexley need at least inform the owner that it is not ok to leave a truck in another area to just sit and decay. The owner does not live here and the vehicle takes up 3 spaces that could be used by residents or visitors. It is therefore causing a nuisance and also has become a danger as children can regularity be found playing on the back of it. Before you once again close the report stating ‘vehicle is taxed’ please try to imagine if this large lorry had been dumped outside your property.

  • It seems to have turned around to face the other way. A taxed vehicle being used doesn't sound like its been abandoned, just parked irritatingly.....

  • Yes it has turned around. The owner has turned up and revved the engine creating massive amounts of smoke probably to keep the battery charged turned the lorry and drove back to his home in another vehicle. Shame he didn’t take the lorry with him when he left. Clearly he doesn’t like the look of it outside his own property

  • There may be no further action due to one of the following:

    The vehicle is taxed

The vehicle is on private land

The owner has come forward to claim the vehicle

Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • Still there. I am wondering if this is now officially a landmark. Once removed maybe a plaque needs to replace it stating ‘the old abandoned tow truck’ I wish a councillor lived nearby then maybe something would be done about this.

  • This is also a danger at the need of the road - as well as being an eyesore and now somewhere that kids meet to sniff those silver canisters. This is shocking - nearly 12 months with no movement

  • This is truly now an eyesore and SO dangerous. You have to do an emergency brake as you come round the corner and young kids are using it to climb on and sniff their canisters. It’s just not acceptable - just because it’s taxes - why should it be allowed to be DUMPED on our road the windscreen is cracked so officially not Road worthy anymore. Bexley - get a grip and get Thai impounded and taken away for all our sakes
