Man hole cover subsided

Reported via desktop in the Manhole covers category by Sharon Finlayson at 22:06, Fri 10 December 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 3172813.

This manhole cover has subsided below the top level of the pavement creating a hazard to pedestrians, aggravated by being hidden by fallen leaves. I sustained a serious injury to my ankle tripping over the hidden “hole” in the pavement. The first photo shows the manhole cover hidden by leaves and the second photo after I cleared the leaves away. The photo of my swollen ankle was taken a week after the accident and is showing no signs of getting any better despite a week of rest, ice, compression and elevation. Please Bexley Council give this your urgent attention before someone else gets injured. The location is on the pavement running adjacent to the railway line.
