Lion Road needs a lower speed limit or speed reminder
Reported via mobile in the Dead animal category anonymously at 20:09, Tue 12 October 2021
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 3058808.
My cat was sadly hit & killed by a car yesterday on Lion Road in Bexleyheath. Her body has been removed but I wasn’t sure how else to report this issue. Since we moved in a year ago we have been horrified at the speed cars come down this road, we have two small children and constantly worry that a speeding car will lose control. Could you please let me know how you decide to change speed limits or add deterrents, such as the speed checkers, to a road?

I live in Freta Road and am horrified at the speed of the cars and vans that use my road and Lion Road as cut-throughs. Now that the old Oak tree has been removed it gives the motorist more of a clear run to speed along Lion Road at breakneck speeds. Bex Council paid for some sort of restriction by the pub but quite frankly it has been a waste of money as this has not solved the problem. There is often a van/car parked dangerously on the bend down to Upton Road too!
