Drug dealing in broad daylight again!

Reported via mobile in the Illegal encampments category anonymously at 20:27, Wed 22 September 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 3018980.

Drug deals on Methuen Road on a daily basis in broad daylight, blatantly in front of residents and children. Daily! Why was this action closed before. Where are the police patrols? My child can’t even walk to school without worrying now! She takes another road home rather than Albion Road through pathway onto Hawthorn Road. What is happening to Bexleyheath. It’s over run with drug uses and dealers on every corner of my local area.

  • Daily drug deals taking place on Methuen road at the junction of Oaklands road mainly delivering to number 6 Oaklands road, which now seem to be a HMO solely housing drug addicts! Why?! No one locally was consulted and there has been a spout of burglaries from vehicles , houses and garden building What is going to be done about this?

  • Drug dealing on the public area where the cenotaph is situated at the junction of Methuen Road and Oaklands road us a daily occurrence. The deals mainly involve the tenants ant number 6 Oaklands which is now being used as some sort out half way house for drug addicts! Who sanctioned this? Why was the usage of this property changed without notice to local residents? Those who have now had their properties or vehicles broken into since these scum have moved in.

  • Still a daily occurrence along Methuen Road. Especially around the cenotaph and in the graveyard area. They also congregate at the Hawthorn Road end, walkway before Albion Road opens up.

  • Although it has seemed to calm down due to the camera install at the cenotaph, I cannot say it isn’t continuing in the area.

  • There is definitely an improvement as a camera has now been set up on the lamp post directly opposite the cenotaph area. There are still individuals rolling and smoking joints sitting along the wall on Methuen Road, mainly the walkway where Methuen Road meets Hawthorn Road. This is concerning as local residents and children feel uncomfortable and unsafe walking through this pathway.

  • This is still an issue around the local quiet back roads especially Heathfield Road as the newly installed surveillance camera installed adjacent to the cenotaph has in the most part impacted on the increasingly blatant and disturbing drug dealing which was taking place on a daily basis throughout the day and night.

  • Not at all! It’s a daily occurrence along Methuen Road, unfortunately now at the junction with Hawthorn Road, as there is now thankfully a camera poisoned at the Methuen Road, Oaklands Road junction. A camera at the Hawthorn Road junction may help with this and the anti social behaviour of drinking and drug taking, smoking weed happening daily!
