Broken fence (screws exposed) severely overgrown foliage

Reported via mobile in the Obstructions on pavements and roads category anonymously at 06:53, Friday 16 July 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2868468.

The trellis panels on top of the garden fence are becoming detached and the screws are exposed at head height. The severely overgrown vegetation is blocking the footpath to lingey Close aswell as Old Farm Road West. It blocks the light from surrounding street lamps making it dangerous to walk due to uneven footpath. This has been happening for years.

  • The problem has been partially fixed, the broken fence bordering the footpath entering Lingey close has been removed however the broken fence bordering Old Farm West with the exposed screws is still there. The overgrown foliage also remains in place causing obstruction for those trying to use the public footpaths which border the property

  • The foliage is still hugely overgrown, not only does it cause an onstruction to users of the footpath it also presents a significant safety concern The foliage blocks out light from a nearby street lamp making the alleyway and its uneven pathway hazardous. The fence is still broken with the exposed screws still presenting a danger to those nearby.

  • Still not sorted. Their foliage still continues to obstruct the footpath, block out light from the street lamp and essentially render the footpath a hazard for any person who needs to use at night.
