Overgrown greenery
Reported via desktop in the Private property category by Ray Arnold at 19:06, Tue 13 July 2021
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2862592.
The Dyke on the North side of Fendyke Rd has not been cleared for over 2years since it was handed back to Bexley Borough after Balfour Beatty used the land to renew the railway embankment and track. This land has also become a dumping ground for rubbish. This the third time I have reported this issue and nothing has yet to be done, although the Dyke on the south side has recently been cleared.

There is a dispute between Bexley council and Railtrack on who should clear this problem. The land was handed back to Bexley after rebuilding the tracks in conjunction with the Crossrail works , but Bexley say that it was not handed back in a decent state. In the meantime the problem just gets worse. The local Councillor has been informed.

The council are still insisting that the area was handed back in an overgrown state by Balfour Beatty on behalf of Network Rail, who of course claim it was in a tidy condition. It is my contention that Bexley Council are trying to get this cleared by Balfour Beatty to save funds. In the the meantime, 3 years growth has turned this area into not only a jungle but also a risk to local flooding.
