The bottle bank is gradually increasing again in direct correlation with the good weather - they seem to think this is a permanent pick up point for their stinking empty beer bottles, cans and other detritus from their hours of sitting in the sun on the grass at the bottom of knee hill, not quite grasping if there's not a litter bin there THEN YOU SHOULD TAKE IT HOME WITH YOU, YOU MORONS! There used to actually be a litter bin beside the iron archway that leads you onto the footpath to Lesness Abbey - perhaps that needs to be reinstated and, more importantly, emptied regularly as I recall the last one used to be left for weeks on end when it was overflowing - which is probably why it was removed.

The pile of bottles is getting added to daily due to the good weather encouraging the drinkers out on the grass - I'm not sure why its 'under investigation', just clear it?

  • The pile has been added to and its just ridiculous how long these things take - just last week I reported a load of rubbish outside No. 23 Manorside Close which was blocking the pavement - this has not been very quickly resolved and all has been taken away but the operatives who removed it had to walk right past the pile of bottles on the corner as per this report - could they not have just picked them up at the same time?

Really disgusting and smelly now and some thoughtful individual has added the frame of a shopping trolley with a load of boxes full of 'something' to it - this was first reporting on 2nd July, nearly 7 weeks ago - this has taken ridiculously long to remove especially when operatives cleared the garden of No. 23 when they dumped a load of stuff outside and actually had to WALK PAST this pile of crap to get to No. 23 - could they not have removed this at the same time? I've seen the rubbish collectors who patrol the green area at the bottom of knee hill look at it and go straight past when they could just have slung it in the back of the truck with all the other rubbish - its just too jobsworth - what with the refuse collectors being on strike walking anywhere in the borough of Bexley is very unpleasant at the moment - I am about to stop paying my Council Tax until things improve!
