I called your offices 4 weeks ago to advise that the grass at the recreation ground at Barnehurst Gold course and the children’s play park at Old Manor Way was so long that they desperately needed cutting. I was told that the contractors were 2 weeks behind schedule. Four days later a partial cut was carried out on the recreation ground but all edges remain long and it now all requires a further cut. However to date the grassed area in the children’s play ground has NOT been cut. At a time when we are advised to meet out in the open and enjoy open spaces this is not acceptable. This park is in constant use, children and parents like to picnic on the grassed area and are unable to do so. There is only one picnic table and therefore it is important that the grassed area is kept short. The pandemic has seen more and more people and children using our open spaces and parks so surely it should be a priority to keep these spaces in an excellent and useable order. Thankyou for taking your time to investigating this and I look forward to hearing from you . Kind regards.
