Loose paving slabs in the roadway

Reported via desktop in the Damaged road category anonymously at 16:54, Wednesday 16 June 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2796692.

There is a paved area of road as Hadlow Road meets the High Street which slopes up from the original tarmac. quite a few of the paving slabs on this slope have become loose, and now rattle as vehicles pass over them. Not a serious problem, but will only get worse with the passage of time. I have also reported the reverse of this problem at the junction with Hatherley Road. Slabs on the down-slope are loose there.

  • I gather that this defect, and the similar problem on Hatherley Road were passed on to another department for them to deal with it. All I can do is confirm that the slabs are still loose as I drive over them. Whilst I would agree that it poses no actual hazard at present, it might be advisable to get it fixed sooner rather than later
