Overfull Skip I disagree is not the Council's Problem

Reported via desktop in the Street cleaning and litter category anonymously at 09:14, Tuesday 15 June 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2792514.

I reported an overfull skip which the council have said is 'not their problem' which I disagree with - the skip is causing a health hazard because of the stink plus it is falling over into the road and onto the pavement - the roads and pavements ARE the responsibility of the Council surely - it is a possible enviromental issue - the council must have given permission for this skip to be parked in a potential parking space in Abbey Wood village so whoever ordered this skip needs to be forced to get it taken away as soon as possible, it's a health hazard which IS the Council's responsibility - don't pass the buck!!!

  • The skip has been removed but a massive pile of rubbish has been left all over the road - it needs to be cleared either by the council or the person who hired the skip. I received a call from Bexley Council following my first report saying it came under Greenwich Council, however after speaking to the shop owners on that side of Wilton Road, they confirmed the boundary goes down the middle of Wilton Road and the side on which this rubbish sits does indeed come under Bexley Council as thats who they pay their property tax to - whichever council it is, I don't care, I just want it fixed as Abbey Wood is enough of a 'hole anyway with the amount of dumping the nasty residents do on the streets and expect everyone to clear up after them with their selfish and disgusting attitudes so hopefully there can be communication between the two councils to fix this current situation and then perhaps have a 'pick your rubbish up' campaign in the local area to try and educate the selfish morons who insist on this unacceptable behaviour
