Part time traffic signals

Reported via mobile in the Other street defect category by Mark Copley at 19:40, Thursday 22 April 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later

The part time traffic signals are causing unnecessary traffic buildup and causing additional traffic pollution. The fact that a roundabout is 10 yards further down the road, makes no sense for the lights to be in use as the roundabout breaks the flow of traffic and so I just cannot understand why the part time signals have been set up. It’s a total waste of time and all they are aimed at doing is causing motorists more stress for no reason by building up traffic which is further polluting the local properties. There’s enough pollution coming from the A2 and this seriously needs to be looked into.

  • It is to break up the traffic to give a gap to the vehicles entering from Blendon road to stop it backing up onto the A2. It works to a degree although irritating, the alternative would be the traffic queuing from Danson all the way to the Black Prince. That is why they are rush hour only lights.
