Mayplace Road West sinking

Reported via mobile in the Damaged road category anonymously at 12:28, Thursday 15 April 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2673018.

I reported this around a year ago. I was told no further action! The road surface by the bus stop, on both sides is sinking. Certain heavy vehicles bang their suspension going over it. This creates a noise nuisance. The road surface along the whole road is unsatisfactory, road cracking, pot holes, dips. This is mainly a residential street, however, huge lorries continue to use it instead of using the non-residential roads coming up from the A2. The many cheap fixes that have been carried out out are not lasting at all. A proper job needs to be done once.

  • This seems to be the only way to report this issue. Last night 21/06/21 at 20:30 a Thames Water worker put cones in the parking bay and letters through the doors of the houses that lined up with the bay. The letter states that they are working in the road all day on the 22/6/21. The letter is dated 18/6/21. This has in no way alerted all of the resident permit holders and we have been given no notice. We would normally be alerted by way of a parking suspension. This hasn’t happened. Upon phoning Thames Water, being passed around departments, I got cut off. However, they did say that they had a permit for this work and to close the bus stop, this hasn’t happened. He also said that cars that hadn’t moved might get blocked in! As I write Thames Water are just pulling up to start work at 07:45!
