Scaffolding o/s Royal Oak Pub Alers Rd/Mount Rd

Hello Building control,

I hope you can answer these questions for me please? I live opposite the Royal Oak public house located junction Mount Rd / Alers Rd Bexleyheath. At current time the beer garden is being covered with a huge scaffolding canopy, more normally seen when loft extensions are being undertaken. I can quite understand why it is being erected, as the pub will open on Monday and customers will need to be seated outside and the structure will keep the rain off. The publican has already lost two giant marquees to strong winds so they are being belt and braces this time.

Could you explain how long a temporary structure like this is expected to exist for and should the structure remain for an excessive period what rights do I have to ask it’s removal?

Many thanks
