Encroachment of hedges 6 to 8 Rowanwood Avenue
Reported via desktop in the Obstructions on pavements and roads category anonymously at 12:30, Tuesday 6 April 2021
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2655444.
The laurel hedges on land owned (I believe) by Countryside have been allowed to encroach onto the adjoining pavement for a distance of some 150m by some 50+ cm from ground level to a height of some 3m making it difficult for pedestrians trying to use the pavement. At present there are no birds nesting in these hedges, so cutting them back would not be an issue.

In the end a kind neighbour cut the bushes back when the job should have been funded by the estate managers. Ergo it looks like the Council who is responsible for the safe use of the footpath did nothing to ensure that standards were kept to.
