Blocked rainwater drainage

Reported via mobile in the Blocked rainwater gulleys category anonymously at 15:02, Wednesday 24 February 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2569448.

Work undertaken last week to lay cables involved taking up the pavement and curb stones and relaying them again. The roof guttering on our houses (numbers 7 & 9) has a downpipe connected to a buried pipe that runs across our front garden, under the pavement and leads out onto the road so rainwater runs to the drain. When the curb stones have been relayed an open space has not been left where the pipe runs onto the road. It is completely blocked up so water can't run out of the pipe. This needs to be rectified please before any further heavy rain or our guttering will overflow and run down the walls of our houses. Thank you.

  • I have received no acknowledgement, no contact at all about this issue, just the two emails asking if my issue has been fixed, which it has not. Will this ever be dealt with??

  • After seven phone calls to the Bexley council offices, I have been informed that this is not a straight forward issue and is being debated between teams within the council offices and I will be updated in due course. In the meantime my drain pipe has no outlet so we are very concerned about water damage to our house.

  • I've finally been told the issue is being looked at but have received no further update for weeks now. It's been 4 months since I first raised this issue. There are storms forecast this week so we are very worried about the damage that may be caused to our houses due to this not being fixed.
