I’m not sure I’ve pinned the exact location on the map. It’s on North End Road by the turning to Colyers Lane. The pavement is in a horrible state of disrepair along this stretch. I walk this way daily with a buggy to get to the play park at Erith Park. There’s a big dip in the pavement that has been a huge murky puddle over the winter months, and now the water has dried there’s lots of detritus there. It’s smelly and dangerous. As the rest of the pavement has a strange incline it’s very difficult to navigate around this area with a buggy, and frankly I shouldn’t have to! As I’m sure you’re aware, North End Road is noisy, polluted and quite terrifying for a young baby as it is, so it’s quite a stressful walk without the pavement obstacles adding to the experience. I live in Myrtle Close so am very close to the park- if there were a pathway from the end of my road (where the garages are) it’d cut out the North End Road part of the journey. I realise this is an unlikely development but I do feel that there should be more walking paths to connect parts of Erith where pedestrians can avoid walking along the duel carriage way. The pollution is so thick it actually makes my lungs hurt by the time I’ve got to the end so I dread to think what it’s doing to my baby’s little lungs. I really hope something can be done to make living near North End Road a bit more pleasant- so sorting out this bit of pavement will be a step in the right direction! It’s worth mentioning that as it’s tricky for me to get around this dip with the sloping pavement it must be especially difficult for people that have a physical disability or aren’t as steady on their feet. Thank you.

  • Rubbish has been removed the the road is very uneven with a huge dip which often fills with water. It’s very difficult to manoeuvre around it safely with a buggy as it’s on a steep slope and right next to a very busy duel carriage way. Please look into this as it is very dangerous.
