Unacceptable amount of rubbish and flytipping

Reported via desktop in the Street cleaning and litter category anonymously at 18:08, Monday 1 February 2021

Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later

An increasing build up of waste. As it would appear that the area under the underpass is home to people, given the amount of bedding scattered about, I realise it must be hard for the people the Council are asking to clear up this area especially as anyone living under the underpass has precious little. I wouldn't have the heart to clear such items away either. But there is a huge amount of flytipping / rubbish that isn't to do with the living quarters of any deperate / destitute souls living under the underpass and it really does need a good clear up. I will contact https://www.streetlink.org.uk/ too about the area potentially being used as somewhere for people to sleep. I have some videos of the area too that provide even more evidence of the desperate situation should you need it.

  • I have put don't know because the answer is it probably was done but the fly-tippers have been busy since the street cleaners / groundsmen sorted out the area as there has definitely been a huge amount of work done. However, since I reported the problem even more flytipping. The photos shown below were taken on Monday 8 March 2021. I really think that the Council needs to put some bins in the vicinity. I also think some fly-tipping signs threatening fines need to be put up. I have seen pairs of groundsmen / street cleaners working in the area and they do work really hard and I have to say the area under the south of the flyover and around Lower Road looked very smart when I last worked by on Monday. The fly-tipping was under the north side of the flyover.
