Alarming levels of dog excrement
Reported via desktop in the Footway / carriageway category anonymously at 18:00, Sun 17 January 2021
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2484009.
Having just moved to Welling from Sidcup one month ago, I am alarmed and appalled at the amount of dog excrement on the pavements - not just in my road (Hazeldene) , but the surrounding area in general. It is unsightly, unpleasant and probably a health hazard. I walk in the road wherever possible, to avoid it. I would not feel relaxed walking these pavements at night, some of them are shocking, honestly. The same applies to East Wickham green space, I would not feel confident to walk off of the paths there at all. Why are people allowed to use these nice green public places and our pavements as toilets for their dogs instead of their own gardens anyway?! Baffles me.

No change, the problem is still as bad, possibly worse. Found some dog excrement right outside my own house today. See attached photos from Hazeldene Road and the general area (Northdown Road, Elsa Road, Gipsy Road, Farnham Road, Lansdowne Avenue. The footpath connecting Northdown Road and Clifton Road is also bad, as is Kenmere Road. Possibly the worst place actually is the public walkway that connects William Foster Lane to Welling Station. There are regular huge piles of dog mess there which people are unfortunately walking in and spreading around the walkway. Sorry I do not have photos from there yet. On one occasion there was even a pile of excrement between the concrete bollards as you approach the station. Please, please help as this is really, really unpleasant to live with and I genuinely regret moving to this area because it is so dirty. Thank you so much for any help you can offer.
