Rubbish in alleyway
Reported via mobile in the Alleyway category anonymously at 20:42, Mon 23 November 2020
Sent to London Borough of Bexley less than a minute later. Report ref: 2402238.
I made a report and you stated no further action would be taken. My neighbour made a report and you stated today that the issue has been fixed and case closed however this is not the case. The rubbish, needles and rats that its encouraging remain in place, the hazard and danger remains for us and our children and the access to the rear of our properties remains restricted. Please deal with this and stop just ignoring us, this has been going on for over a year now! We just want it cleared so we can keep our neighbourhood clean and tidy and safe for our children. Alleyway behind/between Friday Road and Crusoe Road

Council refuse to help despite the fact there are rats and people have set fire to the rubbish endangering our homes. This is a health hazard and a danger which was made worse by the refuse centre being closed and now only accessible at limited times but hey, not the council's responsibility to look after residents who pay their council tax. Fly tipping across the whole of Erith is disgusting and the council turn a blind eye. Someone is going to get hurt eventually but the council really don't seem to care. It's sad and disheartening to see such a neglected community.

Once again, council say they have fixed the problem when in actual fact, they emailed us to say they wouldn't be doing anything about it and have left us with a rat infestation and serious fire danger to our properties (there's already been a few). They ignore emails and just update on here to say it's been fixed so it looks like they're doing something when in actual fact, they couldn't care less. Don't try and walk through, you can't access it without the danger of serious injury or a rat bite.

I keep getting this questionnaire asking me to publicly say whether or not the problem has been fixed. No, it has not. The council jus keep marking it as fixed and hope we'll stop complaining about it. In the meantime, the rats and the rubbish being dumped continues to get worse. Thank you to the council from all the residents and children on our street who are having to live with rats at our back door.

We, as neighbours, got together and cleared and removed all the rubbish ourselves. The council weren't bothered so it fell to us to remove drug paraphernalia, household and garden rubbish, cement, furniture and even asbestos! A whole van full. Really bad form of the council to just leave us in that situation with no help offered. Lucky we live on a street with good neighbours who actually care and look out for eachother. We've done it. Now to hope it stays that way as we worked really hard and it cost us a lot of money to get it all taken away.
