My fence is finally succumbing to pressure from the hawthorne/holly/saplings/ivy hedge bordering the Stevens Park entrance from Selsey Crescent.

Over the 27 years I have lived here (No 41) I have tried to maintain/repair the fence between my garden and the hedge bordering the entrance to Stevens Park from Selsey Crescent. Over the years I have treated it with preservative, carried out repairs, replaced boards, applied straps and supports but the constant ravages of wild ivy, a large holly bush, several saplings within the hedge and pressure from the Hawthorne hedge itself have proved too great for the survival of the fence and I am of the opinion that it may not survive another winter. Originally it was a very sturdy fence and, with care, should still be fairly robust but it appears that nature is taking control and destroying it. I would appreciate your opinion on the way forward as I cannot afford to have the whole fence replaced, neither can I stop the encroachment of your hedge etc. I look forward to hearing from you.
